ISLAMABAD, March 22: Federal education minister Zobaida Jalal on Monday said welfare of teacher's community was among the priorities of the government and effective measures were being taken in this regard.

Speaking on the occasion of 'Professors' 2nd Hike', organized by Islamabad College for Boys (ICB), the minister appreciated the initiative taken by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to involve teachers in such a healthy activity.

She urged the professors to work harder for the achievement of academic excellence at their respective colleges. She assured the participants that her ministry would extend its all out support to any such programme to be organized in future.

In view of multifarious benefits of hiking, FDE introduced the idea of 'Professor's Hike' for senior professors of all government and model colleges of Islamabad on regular basis. First hike in this regard was hosted by F.G. College of Commerce, H-8/4, on Margalla Hills.
