KASUR, Oct 26: A dacoit was killed while the owner of a house injured in a crossfire in Dalib Singh village, Phool Nagar, on Friday.

Nazir Ahmad was sleeping in his house along with his family members when five dacoits sneaked into his house. Nazir woke up to the noise of dacoits, pulled his gun and opened fire on them. As a result of which one of the dacoits, later identified as Nazir, resident of Jadanwala, was killed. The dacoits returned the fire and a bullet hit the house owner. However, the dacoits fled from the scene empty handed.

HOUSE FIRE: A house was reduced to ashes in Kot Murad Khan in the city on Friday.

The fire broke out mysteriously in the house of Sadiq Masih when the family was out. Some neighbours informed police and fire brigade. It took fire fighters about an hour to extinguish the blaze. A boy reportedly received minor burn injuries. The house was completely destroyed.

GAMBLERS HELD: Police arrested three people on the charge of gambling from Kot Budha, Kasur city, on Friday.

Police conducted a raid on a tip off and arrested Muhammad Jahangir, Humayun Pervez and Bashir Ahmad. The stake money, watches, and other valuables were taken into custody.
