JACOBABAD, March 21: Four people, three of them women, were shot dead on the pretext of Karo-kari in three separate incidents in Jacobabad and Khairpur districts on Sunday.

Rashida and her cousin, Mohammad Hassan, were at her house in Drip village, Jacobabad district, when her brother-in-law, Piyaro Mugheri, appeared on the scene and opened fire with a gun, killing them both on the spot.

Later, the accused surrendered before the Mauladad police with the weapon used in the crime. The bodies were shifted to the Jacobabad Civil Hospital for autopsy.

KHAIRPUR: A woman was gunned down by her husband near Kolab Jial, Kingri taluka. Accused Mashooq Shaikh shot dead his wife, Basran, 23, and presented himself at the Tando Masti police station.

In the third incident, a young girl was shot dead by her brother in Mohammad Paryal Shar village near Sui Gas. Zohra, daughter of Hazoor Bakhsh, was killed by her brother, Jamaluddin, who escaped after the incident.

The body of the deceased girl was handed over to relatives after autopsy. Hazoor Bakhsh lodged an FIR with the Thari Mirwah police in which he maintained that his daughter was innocent. However, no arrest was reported.
