RAWALPINDI, March 19: Former MNA and one of the three accused in Maulana Azam Tariq murder case, Nawab Amanullah Khan Sial, has been arrested by the police investigation wing and shifted to Islamabad in the early hours of Friday , an official source said.

Maulana Azam Tariq, the chief of the banned Millat-i-Islami Pakistan, and his three bodyguards, were killed in Golra police area. A police team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Islamabad Ishaq Warraich and Inspector Bashir Noon, raided the residence of Amanullah Sial in Lahore on Thursday night and arrested him along with his bodyguard. The bodyguard, identified as Nawaz, was released after brief questioning.

Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi, the chief of the banned Islami Tehrik Pakistan, has already been arrested in connection with Maulana Azam Tariq murder case while the third accused Allama Syed Sibtain Ali Kazmi is absconding. When the DSP Investigation Wing Ishaq Warriach was contacted, he was reluctant to give further details of the arrest of Mr Sial.
