LAHORE, March 11: A new violence against women draft bill will be presented in the Punjab Assembly in a few months. This was stated by Punjab Minister for Women and Human Rights Ashifa Riaz Fatiana at a press conference here on Thursday.

She said the government also wanted to repeal Hudood Ordinance and a bill in this regard would be tabled in the National Assembly soon. She said the government, media and NGOs would have to work jointly to eliminate violence against women from the society.

She said capacity building training would be imparted to women councillors, NGOs' officials, women teachers and students. She said that micro credit loans would be provided to women, especially in rural areas, and more women vocational training institutions would be established across the province.
