SUKKUR, March 10: The Sindh High Court Bar Association, Sukkur chapter, at its meeting held here on Wednesday, decided to support the ongoing protest against the Greater Thal canal and Kalabagh dam projects.

Presided over by HCBA president Imdad Ali Awan, the meeting observed that the dam and canal projects were against the interests of of water-starved Sindh. The meeting also condemned the gruesome murder of People's Party Parliamentarians MPA Abdullah Murad Baloch in Karachi and demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident.

It resolved to request the chief justice of the Sindh High Court to appoint a third judge at the Sindh High Court, Sukkur bench, on permanent basis, to help clear backlog of cases, some of them pending for more than 25 years. The construction work of the district court complex also came under discussion.
