LAHORE, March 8: Pakistan Satellite International ranking badminton tournament will be played on Nov 1-6 in Islamabad, a top official of Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) said on Monday.

"The prestigious Satellite tournament, first ever in Pakistan has been allocated by International Badminton Federation (IBF)," said secretary PBF, Aamir Hayat Khan Rokari.

He said that invitations would be extended to 20 countries for the event, which offered a cash prize of US $8,500. "The event which is on the IBF calendar is open to all the affiliated member countries but we hope (at least) 10 to 15 countries will take part," he said.

Rokari said that PBF is making efforts to convince Asian Badminton Confederation into allocating the country, Asian ranking tournaments and top level junior tournaments. -APP
