ISLAMABAD, March 5: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry has signed a protocol on economic cooperation with the Federation of Yemen Chambers of Commerce and Industry to further strengthen economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

According to the protocol released to media here on Thursday, both the chambers would undertake all the activities that help develop and promote the foreign trade and enhance the commercial exchange between the two countries.

"The two parties will work within their powers to harness the available resources for the promotion of economic and commercial relations to facilitate the contacts between the companies and investors in the two countries," the protocol states.

It was also agreed that the two parties would act to prepare and bring about a favourable climate and circumstances for economic cooperation and exchange of expertise to achieve mutual benefits.

They will encourage and facilitate conclusion and proper implementation of the financial and commercial agreements and removal of the possible obstacles in order to realize the desired results.

The two chambers agreed on exchange of visits by the commercial delegates and businessmen with a view to promoting the foreign trade, enhancing commercial exchange and encouraging the investment.

Under the protocol, it was also agreed to hold trade exhibitions in Pakistan and Yemen for the development and promotion trade exchange, establishment of commercial centres and markets and promotion of national products.
