KARACHI, March 3: The Shia Ulema Council has expressed grief and anger over the killings of Muslims in Karbala, Baghdad, Mandi Bahauddin and Quetta.

The council demanded judicial inquiry from a judge of High Court into the Quetta incident. The council urged that those found guilty should be given exemplary punishment.

In a joint statement, Shia leaders said that the United States agents had been massacring Shia and Sunni Muslims through out the world and terming them the incidents of religious extremism. They regretted that the United Nations and human rights groups had remained silent.

They said that some of the rulers in Muslim countries to prolong their rule had stooped so low that in obedience to the US they were not hesitating even to put at stake Islamic values, national security and stability of country. Referring to the tragedy of Quetta and Mandi Bahauddin, the council demanded of interior minister to accept the lapses and resign.
