LANDI KOTAL, March 1: Five persons, three of them brothers, were killed and one was seriously injured in two incidents of shootout in Khyber Agency over the past two days.

The first incident took place in Chalghazi area of the remote Tirah valley on Sunday where two cousins, Kheyal Bahadar and Sabar Gul, exchanged fire which resulted in the death of Kheyal Bahadar's three sons Gelas Khan, Qayam Khan and Khan Salim. His other teenaged son Razaq was critically injured in the shootout.

Sources said that the two cousins had a long standing dispute over a piece of land. On Sunday morning Kheyal Bahadar and Sabar Gul fired at each other after an exchange of hot words. The teenage Razaq was shifted to a Peshawar hospital for treatment.

In another incident at Kalanga area of Akakhel near Bara, two young men Said Ali and his rival Niaz Ali lost their lives when they fired at each other. According to the residents of the locality, Said Ali was building a boundary wall to which Niaz Ali objected. The two after an exchange of hot words fired at each other. Both were critically injured and died on their way to hospital.

AUTO PARTS SEIZED: Authorities in Bara subdivision of Khyber Agency on Sunday evening foiled an attempt to smuggle auto mobile spare parts from Bara to Peshawar.

The auto parts worth about 3.2 million rupees were placed in two trucks (Peshawar-K 8039 and QAF-2233). The two trucks were intercepted by the Khasadar force on Bara-Peshawar road and upon search, the contraband were recovered. The authorities took the auto parts into their custody and impounded the trucks.
