LAHORE, March 1: The ghusl ceremony of the Data Sahib shrine was performed here on Monday with 50 maunds of rose water.

Punjab Religious Affairs and Auqaf Minister Sahibzada Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah along with minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, Raza Ali Gilani, Auqaf Secretary Javed Iqbal Awan, Religious Purposes Committee Chairman Hafiz Manzoor Husain and other members of the committee were also present.

Later, a chaddar-lying ceremony was performed and floral wreaths were laid. Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali recited the Holy Quran. Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Akhtar Rasool, Khwaja Riaz Mehmood, Tahir Zia, Shaukat Virk, senior officials of Pakistan Television, the Auqaf department, the district administration and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion.

Sahibzada Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah also performed the Dastar Bandi of the guests. Khateeb Jamia Masjid Data Darbar Allama Maqsood Ahmad Qadri prayed for the solidarity and prosperity of the country as well as liberation of occupied Muslim territories. - APP
