LAHORE, Feb 26: People cannot get their basic rights unless there exists the feudal system in the country. This was stated by Seraikistan Qaumi Inqilabi Party president Manzoor Bohar , Labour Party general secretary Farooq Tariq and Punjab Kisan Mahaz chairman Abdul Karim Kerala at a joint press conference here on Thursday.

They said the feudal class, with the connivance of corrupt capitalists and civil and army bureaucrats, had always been plundering the national wealth and the country could not progress without getting rid of it.

They said the Musharraf-Jamali set-up had no relation with real democracy. They demanded forming of a new Seraiki province to fulfil, what they said, wishes of the people of southern Punjab and to remove the label from Punjab that it was ruling other provinces due to its big population.

They condemned registering a case against 25 PONM leaders under MPO 16 by the Islamabad police and termed it a manifestation of Gen Musharraf's dictatorial behaviour. The government wanted to bully the forces which were opposing its illegal and unconstitutional steps, they added.
