MULTAN, Feb 23: Several revenue officials and other people have been booked by the Multan Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) for illegally transferring land.

Layyah naib tehsildar Abdul Majid Akhtar and patwari Mukhtiar Ahmad transferred 569 kanals of agricultural land of deceased Murad Bakhsh to Abdul Khaliq illegally, while his legal heirs were his widow Safooran and daughter Hajran.

A piece of 81 kanals, owned by Bashirullah Khan of Chak 88/A-6R Tibbi Rutti, Sahiwal, was fraudulently transferred to Zaman, by his father-in-law Abdul Ghani, through Tariq Mahmood, Abdul Jabbar, lumberdar Abdul Aziz, deed-writer Mahr Ali, stamp vendor Ghulam Haider and Advocate Shafiq Ahmad. Sub-registrar-cum-magistrate Ilyas Akhtar approved the mutation.

Meanwhile, accused Ghani got 59 kanals of land, owned by Sabrin Khan of Ghora Gali, Attock, in the same village, transferred to his name through the same accomplices.

Ahmadpur East tehsildar-cum-consolidation officer Ghulam Ghaus Javed, patwaris Rafiq and Nazir Ahmad took Rs43,000 bribe from Ghulam Haider for the allotment of state land but did not do the job. Cases have been registered against the accused. -APP
