ISLAMABAD, Feb 23: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sent for government approval two PC-1 of Rs90 million and Rs50 million for the renovation and development of Bari Imam Shrine.

This was stated in a meeting of Hazrat Bari Imam Shrine development and management committee here on Monday. Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro, who presided over the meeting, said the PC-1 of Rs50 million meant for improvement of parking facilities outside the shrine, laying of sewerage system and dualization/expansion of the existing network of the approach road, whereas the PC-1 of Rs90 million was specifically for construction of new dual carriageway leading to the shrine.

These two PC-1 are likely to be considered in the next meeting of the Central Development Working Party scheduled to be held in March. Mr Soomro called upon the CDA and other departments to expedite the construction work and take appropriate steps for seeking help from the planning division.

The terms of reference along with physical requirements of the project were also forwarded to the top scoring firms of architects, who were asked to submit technical and financial proposals.

WILDLIFE BOARD: A 12-member conservation board has been set up in the capital, reports APP. Interior Minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat told reporters on Monday that the step had been taken to protect wildlife during the beautification drive of the CDA.
