PESHAWAR, Feb 15: Two security personnel of a law enforcement agency were killed when a fighter plane of the Pakistan Air Force jettisoned a fuel tanker near the runway here on Sunday after developing some technical fault, official sources told Dawn.

Director general ISPR Maj Gen Shaukat Sultan said that two security guards were killed at the air base as a result of the mishap. However, he expressed his ignorance when asked about the identity of the two servicemen killed and the organization they belonged to.

The deceased have been identified as Arshad and Ijaz, security guards, posted at the runway of the PAF base here. Local officials also appeared tight lipped when asked about the organization the victims belonged to.

He said that the pilot dropped fuel tanker near the runway which resulted in the death of two security men at the airport. The plane landed safely, he said.
