BAHAWALPUR, Feb 15: The Sadiqgarh Palace of late Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi is being desealed today (Monday) after 20 years to auction the antiques among his legal heirs and descendants.

The sub-committee, constituted on Tuesday last to finalize arrangements for the palace's desealing, is all set to do the job. The committee chairman, EDO (revenue) Abdul Ghafoor Bhatti, told Dawn on Sunday that the process of the auction of the late Nawab's valuables would be decided after the palace's desealing in the presence of his legal heirs and descendants.

The EDO will be assisted by DO (revenue) Waseem Shamshad, additional SP Maqbool Ahmad and Zahid Siddiqui, a federal government representative, who is section officer in Safron (State and Frontier Region) of the Kashmir affairs division in Islamabad.

NA SEAT: Ms Maria Laleka, daughter of late Mian Abdul Sattar Laleka, may opt for securing the PML-Q ticket to contest for Chishtian-Haroonabad National Assembly seat (recently fell vacant due to the death of the minister), it is learnt on Sunday.
