Judge Khwaja Wajeehuddin also sentenced the accused, Yasir Khan, to 10 years imprisonment and fined him Rs100,000 for injuring his father.

The police had registered an FIR against the accused on Feb 29, 2001, charging him with killing brother Mohammad Tilla Khan and injuring father Haji Kareemullah.

The prosecution told the court that on the day of occurrence Tilla and Yasir exchanged hot words and the latter, in a fit of anger, opened fire, killing Tilla and injuring his father.

The defence contended that the accused was implicated in the case. He contended that there was no clear motive for the murder. The additional public prosecutor contended that the prosecution witnesses had deposed against the accused. He added that Haji Kareemullah was also a witness to the occurrence.
