PPP to set up protest camp in Sialkot

SIALKOT, Feb 11: The PPP has announced setting up of protest camps from Feb 13 to 20 at Allama Iqbal Chowk against the humiliation of nuclear scientists. According to a press release issued here on Wednesday afternoon, the camps would be held from 11am to 4pm daily.

MNA Qamar Zaman Kaira and MPA Malik Tahir Akhtar would lead the agitation on Feb 13, ex-provincial minister Malik Mushtaq Awan on Feb 14, ex-MNA Aslam Lone and Talat Yaqoob on Feb 15, MNA Imtiaz Safdar Warriach on Feb 16, MPA Mian Saood Hasan on Feb 17, Matloob Ahmad Warriach, Farooq Shafi Mughal and MPA Sagheera Islam on Feb 18, MNA Zulfiqar Gondal on Feb 19 and MNA Imtiaz Safdar Warriach on Feb 20.

MAQBOOL'S ANNIVERSARY: Kashmiris observed death anniversary of Maqbool Butt Shaheed. According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, Kashmiris held functions to eulogize his sacrifice for the cause of Kashmir.

Addressing a meeting, their leaders, including Jammu Kashmir Freedom Movement convener Dr Zahid Ghani Dar and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Forum's Col Akhtar Butt, paid rich tributes to Maqbool Butt. Dr Dar urged the UN to press India to halt operation in the occupied valley.
