SHEIKHUPURA, Feb 8: A proclaimed offender was shot dead in an encounter near Mansoorabad, some 8km from here, police claimed on Sunday. Three accomplices of Riasat (alias Riasoo), however, escaped from the scene, DPO Nawaz Warraich told newsmen here.
He said on a tip-off Saddar police besieged Mansoorabad where Riasat had gone to see his relatives along with three accomplices. The DPO claimed that the accused opened fire at the Saddar police party.
Meanwhile, a Factory Area police party also reached the spot. As a result of exchange of fire for an hour, Riasat was killed while his accomplices escaped from the scene.
