ISLAMABAD, Feb 8: Pakistan produces about two million tons of citrus fruit annually, said senior scientific officer, National Agricultural Development Centre, Dr Hafeezur Rehman.

Stressing the need for concerted efforts to enhance the production of fruits, he said: "We can produce every kind of fruit round the year as the country has favourable climate".

He said the Punjab province produced 1,900,000 tons of citrus fruit annually. Research centres are playing a vital role in the production of all types of crops, he added. He said the research centres advised farmers at the time of sowing seeds, about quantity of water, spray and other procedure to acquire better yield. -APP
