QUETTA: FC man dies in blast

QUETTA, Jan 28: A Frontier Corps soldier was killed on Wednesday evening and seven others including a commissioned officer were injured when their vehicle hit a landmine in Kahan area of Kohlu district, some 600km east of here.

"Yes, a landmine blew up when an FC patrol vehicle hit it," a senior officer of the Frontier Corps headquarters in Quetta said while confirming the blast. "We have lost our one soldier on the spot," he said, adding that seven other FC men including a captain had received injuries. They were shifted to CMH Multan by helicopter.

The dead in the blast was Nasir Hussain while injured include Captain Mohsin Javed, Sobedar Sajawal Khan, Naib Sobedar Ibrahim, Qatoobuddin, Sahat Khan, Mohammad Mansoor and sepoy Jamal Hussain. In the meanwhile, unknown miscreants blew up a bulldozer of the agriculture department through a time bomb in Kohlu township on Wednesday.
