WANA, Jan 25: Five more tribesmen were handed over to the political administration by a tribal Lashkar, while the house of a wanted man who did not surrender was demolished in the Sholam area here on Saturday.

The tribal Lashkar, comprising members of the Ahmadzai Wazir tribe, handed over the five men wanted in connection with providing shelter to the Al Qaeda and Taliban suspects in the agency.

The five tribesmen who belonged to Khojalkhel and Miami Kabalkhel sub-tribes were identified as Gul Mohammad, Yaghistan, Baitullah, Sangeen and Batakai. They were handed over to Assistant Political Agent Rehmatullah Wazir.

So far, a total of 31 tribesmen have been surrendered to the administration for their alleged involvement in providing shelter to Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters since the Pakistan army and security agencies initiated operation on Jan 11 against the foreign elements said to be hiding in the agency.

The tribal lashkar also demolished the house of one Ghulam Jan Zalikhel, who is believed to have escaped the agency, in the Sholam area. Talking on phone to Dawn, APA Rehmatullah Wazir appreciated the performance of the Ahmadzai Wazir tribal lashkar and hoped that the other wanted tribesmen would be held soon.

TWO KIDNAPPED: Unidentified men kidnapped two tribesmen and snatched their Mazda truck in the Srarogha area of the South Waziristan Agency. Sources told Dawn that the truck driver and cleaner had been whisked away by some kidnappers from the Srarogha area. The truck was found abandoned at a deserted place in the area as it had developed some mechanical fault.
