LAHORE, Jan 23: The Quaid-i-Azam Cup and Trophy cricket tournaments will commence from Feb 8. The One-day matches will be followed by four-day first-class matches.

Nine regions of the country - Multan, Lahore, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Karachi, Hyderabad, Peshawar and Quetta will take part in the competition.

Trials for the selection of regional teams will commence from Jan 26. The four-member regional selection committee will comprise a national senior/junior selector, who will be the chairman of the regional selection committee, a PCB nominated coach, PCA nominated player and PCA nominated member.

The selectors will pick 20 players each for their respective regions. However, Hyderabad and Quetta teams will be entitled to field a maximum of five guest players.

Cricketers, who have performed well in the Inter-District tournaments and Under-19 Inter-District and Inter-Regional competitions, will be invited for trials. It has been made mandatory for Pakistan senior and junior players to appear in at least the initial round matches of the tournaments.

Quetta Region: Jan 26-27 Venue: Shola Ground. National

Multan Region: Jan 26-27 Venue: Multan Cricket Stadium.

Lahore Region: Jan 26-27 Venue: LCCA ground. National

Islamabad/Rawalpindi Region: Jan 26-27) Venue: KRL Stadium.

Sialkot: Jan 26-27 Venue, Jinnah Stadium.

Faisalabad Region: Jan 29-30 Venue: Iqbal Stadium.

Karachi Region: Jan 28-29 Venue: PCB Regional Academy.

Hyderabad Region: Jan 30-31 Venue: Niaz Stadium.

Peshawar Region: Jan 30-31 Venue: Arbab Niaz Stadium.
