HYDERABAD, Jan 21: The Sindh HRCP Special Task Force has accused a landlord of Sanghar of kidnapping two peasants and warned the Sanghar administration of serious consequences if they are not released.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, a spokesman for the task force said that Sohro Odh and Malook Odh of the Kotri Hari camp had gone to meet their relatives in Goth Zubair Sehto, Sufi Faqir area near Umerkot on Jan 17. There, he alleged, the two Haris were detained by landlord Zubair Sehto and his henchmen and handed over to Ghulam Qadir Mari.

He said that two months ago, some peasants of Odh com-munity had escaped from the land of Mari and reached Hyderabad. Since then, he further alleged, members of Odh community from Umerkot and Sanghar had been victims of the landlord.

He said that the lives of Sohro and Malook were in danger. He warned that if no action was taken against the accused and the peasants were not rescued, the relatives of the hostages and the Azad Hari Union would use force against the landlords to rescue the peasants.
