KPT's plea to PFF

KARACHI, Jan 19: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) have asked Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) chief to declare them as joint winners of PFF President's Cup along with PTCL.

PTCL were declared winners of the tournament in Quetta last year on the spin of coin after both sides remained deadlocked at 1-1 in the extra time.Surprisingly, organizers, instead of penalty kicks, opted to decide the winners on toss of coin because of crowd trouble and fading light.

KPT manager sports, Shah Naeem Zafar, in a letter to PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat, said according to the rules, the match should have been decided on penalty kicks.

"Since the final was decided in violation of rules, we request your intervention in the matter with the request that both teams, KPT and PTCL, be declared joint winners of the final," KPT official wrote.

PFF Cup, the most prestigious competition after national championship participated by departments, however, has recently been scratched by PFF after it decided to start national league.
