LAHORE: Gen Ansari laid to rest

LAHORE, Jan 15: Maj-Gen M.H. Ansari (retired) was laid to rest at the Gulshan-i-Ali Colony graveyard on Thursday. The octogenarian politician breathed his last at the CMH on Tuesday where he was admitted with a respiratory problem.

Mr Ansari was an ex-MNA, LDA's former director-general and the chairman of the Jamaat-i-Islami's ehtesab cell. Former president Rafiq Tarar, Senator Dr Khalid Ranjha, Jamaat-i-Islami amir Qazi Husain Ahmad, Sarfroshan-i-Pakistan Welfare Trust chairman Rafiq Shahzad, Mian Maqsood Ahmad, Mufti Syed Ashiq Husain and Mahmood Husain Ghazanvi were among the large number of people who offered the funeral prayers.-APP
