PESHAWAR, Jan 14: The Federal Investigation Agency has seized stolen medicines of government and military hospitals and also recovered fake drugs worth millions from a shop at Karachi Market in Khyber Bazaar , said a press release issued here on Wednesday.

According to an official statement, the FIA crime cell on a tip-off raided MS Traders at Karachi Market in Khyber Bazaar on Tuesday and recovered fake medicines. The raiding team also recovered stolen medicines of government and military hospitals, it added.

The FIA arrested owner of the shop, Mohammad Ali, son of Mohibud Din, and registered a case under 109, 409, 420, 468 of 23/27 Drug Act. The accused was involved in packing fake medicines in original packets, the statement said and added that the FIA team also recovered doctors' samples from the wholesale medical store.

The special judge of anti-corruption and drug court, Safdar Khan, has remanded the suspects in custody of the FIA crime cell. During the preliminary interrogation, the accused disclosed names of his accomplices and the network of the distribution of fake drugs in the market. The other accused involved in the crime would be arrested soon under the light of the interrogation of Mohammad Ali, it said.
