SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 12: Five people, including a former vice-chairman of Jatri Nau union council, were murdered and four injured in two incidents on Monday.

In the first incident, Jabbar alias Baddi, Dildar and their three accomplices opened fire on their opponent Altaf group near Chak No 5 bus stop in Nankana Sahib when they were on their way to court. Nawaz Latif, Boota and Altaf were killed on the spot while Ghafoor and M. Altaf s/o Arif sustained serious injuries.

The injured were immediately shifted to the Mayo Hospital, Lahore. In the other incident, three gunmen opened fire on former vice-chairman Mansha Waseer and his cousin Muhammad Sher and killed them on the spot, while Hameed and Nazir sustained injuries.
