President, PM condole Hameed's death

ISLAMABAD, Jan 11: President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali have expressed grief over the demise of seasoned parliamentarian Sardar Abdul Hameed Jatoi.

In his condolence message, the president paid tribute to the services rendered by the late parliamentarian. He said the veteran politician was committed to democratic norms and principles.

The prime minister, in a message addressed to Industries Minister Liaqat Ali jatoi, son of the deceased leader, termed his death a great national loss and end of a glorious chapter in politics.

He said the late Abdul Hameed Jatoi stood for sobriety in politics and remained committed to democratic norms and principles. Mr Jamali eulogized his services in the Pakistan movement. The president and the prime minister prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.-APP
