PESHAWAR, Jan 2: Several parts of the central Hazara region will remain without electricity for 20 days due to development activities planned by the Peshawar Electric Supply Company.

According to a press release issued here on Friday, power supply through the 66kv Haripur-Hawalian-Abbottabad transmission line would remain suspended to help smooth execution of development activities.

"Power supply would remain suspended from 7am on Jan 2 to 6pm Jan 22 - for a period of 20 days - as a result of which consumers getting electricity from the 66kv Abbottabad grid station would be affected," contained the press release.

The suspension of power supply has been necessitated due to development works planned for location number 128 to 140 on the said transmission line.

Pesco, according to the release, has planned to replace the existing transmission poles with new and taller ones to elevate the electricity transmission wires in an effort to ensure maximum safety in the area.
