HYDERABAD, Jan 2: The residents held a demonstration outside the local press club on Friday against unhygienic conditions in Ghumanabad, North Amil Colony, Hirabad and other localities of the union council-1, City taluka.

Speaking on the occasion, the president of Pasban, city zone, Javed Qureshi, said that UC Nazim Altaf Ghuman and councillor Yousuf Qureshi had converted the entire area into a refuse dump and its roads were submerged under dirty water.

He warned that if the refuse was not disposed of and the dirty water was not drained out, the area people would stage a sit-in on the Hala Naka Road and the responsibility for the consequences would lie with the City Taluka Nazim and the administration.

He complained that ever since his election as the UC Nazim, Mr Ghuman had never attended his office. He demanded that the Nazim and the councillor should be removed from their posts. Others who spoke on the occasion included Jamil Ahmed Qureshi, Khalil Qureshi and Ghulam Mustafa.
