HYDERABAD, Feb 23: Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Noshad Ahmed Shaikh has announced that the university will soon establish a hospital to provide medical treatment to the people of interior Sindh.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Institute of Physiotherapy established by the LUMHS here on Monday. The classes of the institute began on Monday.

He said that initially only 30 students had been granted admissions to the institute but the number of students would be doubled from next year.

Despite paucity of funds, the university had carried out record development works, Professor Shaikh claimed and added that the university had achieved good results both in curricular and extra-curricular activities.

He said that physiotherapy, a science of rehabilitation, was an important subject but it had been ignored in the country.

He said that the services of the institute would be available not only for the people of interior Sindh but also for those of Karachi.

Speaking on the occasion, director of the institute, Professor Khaleeq Ahmed Siddiqui, said that the institute offered a four-year course.

Director, academic, Professor Azam Hussain Yousfani, Registrar Syed Ghulam Qadir Shah and others also spoke on the occasion.

RESULTS: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences has announced the results of examinations of MSc Orthodontics, MSc Operative Dentistry, MS Orthopaedics, MD Cardiology, MS General Surgery, MS Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Master of Public Health.

The university has also announced the results of examinations of Diploma in Child Health.
