National Ranking Boxing from today

KARACHI, Feb. 22: Four-day National Ranking Boxing tournament an open and cadet boxing tournament will be held at Ali Muhammad Qambrani Stadium from Feb 23 to 26, Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) announced on Sunday.

The event has been dedicated to veteran international referee/judge Yaqoob Qambrani, who died recently after serving the game for 30 years.

Pugilists from affiliated units of PBF and Punjab, NWFP, Balochistan and two Sindh teams will compete. U-15-17 will appear in 40, 48, 50, 52, 54, 57 and 60 kgs categories while in open category between 17-34 years will be taking part in 11 weight categories.

PBF will be pick 30 boxers to attend training camp who will be sent aboard for training. Later a team will be selected to feature in the 31st Kings Cup Boxing tournment to be held in Bangkok from April 3 to 12.—Agencies
