UMERKOT, Feb 6: A large number of people belonging to Chopan community and Ghausia Jamaat took out a procession and staged a sit-in here on Friday to protest against delay in the arrest of main accused of the murder of local PPP leader Ismail Chopan.

The protestors, carrying banners and placards and raising slogans against killers and police, marched on different roads of the town and reached the press club outside which they staged a sit-in.

Speaking on the occasion, local PPP leader Allah Bachayo Aseer, Ghausia Jamaat Khalifa Nazeer Jakhro and Faiz Chopan appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the murder.

They demanded transfer of investigation of the case to an honest and competent police officer to ensure arrest of the accused.
