HARIPUR, May 14: Armed bandits looted valuables from a house in Mohalla Noor Colony here on Monday night.

According to family sources, Haq Nawaz and his mother were asleep in a room of their house when at around 2am about seven armed dacoits entered their house by scaling the walls and made the inmates hostage.

Later, they locked the family in a room and collected gold ornaments worth millions of rupees, Rs18,000 in cash and two savings certificates worth Rs500,000.

When the inmates tried to resist, bandits attacked with the butt of their rifles and fled.

It may be recalled that due to lack of proper patrolling in the area an incident of similar nature was occurred in Mohalla Pattan sometime ago when dacoits shot dead three of a family when they tried to stop them. The culprits of that case were still at large.
