MINGORA, Jan 18: Four persons including two security personnel were killed and three injured in different incidents of violence in the restive Swat valley on Sunday.

In Hazara village militants planted an improvised explosive device near a road which exploded when a convoy of security forces was passing through the area. Sources said that one soldier was killed and another injured in the blast.

In another incident a Frontier Corps soldier identified as Arshid Ali was going to his home on leave when some unidentified persons attacked him at the bus stand and killed him.

Local people in Gulkada area of Saidu Sharif said that some unidentified masked men attacked a residence here on Sunday resulting in killing of two brothers and injuries to two others.

The deceased were identified as Salman and Zafar Ali, both sons of Sher Bahadur. Their two brothers, Inayat and Mohammad Ali, received serious injuries in the attack and were shifted to hospital.

An abandoned police post was also blown up by militants in Shah Dehri area of the militants-infested Kabal tehsil. The police officials had abandoned the post few days ago owing to growing activities of militants.
