LANDI KOTAL, May 13: Two people were injured in a firing incident at Shiekhwal village here.

Sources said a quarrel took place over fetching of water from a tubewell in the area between Afghan refugee women and local residents on Saturday afternoon.

The women reportedly informed their male family members who visited the spot and exchanged hot words with Shiekhwal residents.

On Sunday, both the groups came to the tubewell carrying firearms. Both the groups reportedly opened fire causing injuries to a college student Gohar Zaman and Khursheed.

Both were taken to Agency Headquarters Hospital at Landi Kotal for treatment.

Political authorities arrested Sial Wali, head of the Afghan refugee family.

Elders of Shiekhwal village also forced the family of Sial Wali to immediately leave the village.
