Azam Sports triumph

KARACHI, Jan 4: Azam Sports beat Irfan Memorial 5-3 in the All-Pakistan NBP Challenge Cup Football Tournament at the Colony Sports Football Ground, Malir, on Sunday.

The match was decided on penalty kicks after a 1-1 score line at interval.

Left-winger Hashim Khan scored for Azam Sports in the 20th minute and Irfan Memorial’s forward Sohail Khan equalised in the 49th minute.

Later, Azam Sports succeeded in converting four penalty kicks through strikers Sagheer Ahmed, Ghulam Mohammad, Mohammad Akbar and Hyder Khan.

Meanwhile, Zulfiqar Abbas and Dilwar Khan scored for Irfan Memorial.

Monday’s fixture: Jam XI v Baloch Youth at 3.30.
