Futsal event reaches semis stage

KARACHI, Jan 2: The semi-final lineup in the Diya Futsal Inter-club Under-19 Men’s Futsal Tournament is now complete with FC Rovers, Stallions, Creek Football Club and Fateh Football Club making it to the final four.

The first match at the British Overseas School on Friday saw FC Rovers crushing Karachi Rebels with an 18-2 win. Three boys — Irfan Junejo (four), Sikander Butt (three) and Aquib Zubair (three) — earned hat-tricks during the process. The rest of the goals in the winners’ huge tally included two by Waqas Pervaiz and one each by Saad Qureshi, Tehseen Ghaffar, Salman Shahid, Wasiq Khan, Shoaib and M. Abdullah Haroon.

Rebels’ two goals, meanwhile, were scored by Mustafa Tawab and Aman Aftab.

In the day’s other match, Stallions beat Creek Football Club 4-3. Abdullah of Stallions scored a hat-trick and Aman added one.

Shehryar (two) and Hasan Aslam (one) scored for Creek FC.
