KARACHI, Jan 1: Police finally earned a point in the ongoing Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) League when they held Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to a goalless draw here at the Colony Sports Stadium, Malir, on Thursday.

The Group ‘A’ match saw SSGC wasting as many as three corners in a span of four minutes when Police’s keeper Saeed Ahmed thwarted all their attempts. At the other end, SSGC’s keeper Zaman Ghani was also on high alert, not letting anything get past him.

By drawing, Police didn’t do much for themselves while also spoiling SSGC’s fun. Although they were finally able to earn a point, they are out of the race with not a single win.

The urgency to register a win made this a rough game where two of Police’s players, their skipper Nida Mohammad and Mohammad Ismail and two of SSGC, namely Asim Faiz and Manzoor Ahmed were shown yellow cards by referee Shahid Ismail.

Matches resume on Saturday after a day’s break when ELBA Pure Water take on Railways at the Model Town Football Academy Ground, Lahore, at 2.00pm.
