KOHAT, Jan 1: The Kohat Friendship Tunnel will be opened on Friday to facilitate the hajis travelling to the southern districts of NWFP.

District Coordination Officer Siraj Ahmed, who also holds the additional charge of Political Agent of the Frontier Region of Kohat, announced this on Thursday after a meeting with a delegation of the pilgrims’ relatives. The tunnel will remain open till Tuesday.

The delegation demanded that the Friendship Tunnel should be opened as the hajis were facing difficulties in reaching their destinations via other routes other than the shortest one through the tunnel. —Correspondent
