MIANWALI, Dec 29: In a head-on collision between a bus and an oil-tanker, eight people, including a bride, were killed and 27 injured owing to dense fog on Mianwali-Muzaffargarh Road near Baranga, in precincts of Dulewala police in Bhakkar at 7am on Monday.

The Punjab Highway Patrolling (PHP) police of Fazil check post was the first to arrive at the accident place.

PHP post in charge Muhammad Hayat Khan said a Karachi-to-Mansehra bus collided with an oil tanker due to poor visibility from fog, leaving eight people dead and 27 others injured.

The injured were shifted to the Dulewala Rural Health Centre and later on many injured were referred to the Bhakkar District Headquarters Hospital, where seven are reportedly in critical condition.

The other dead include Bakhta Zari, Zafar Khan, Chaudhry Zareen (oil-tanker driver) and Muhammad Naseem (bus driver) Ajmal Khan. Two bodies could not be identified.
