Man kills father and sister

GUJRANWALA, Dec 28: A man killed his father and his sister over a domestic issue in Wazirabad.

Majid exchanged words with his father Tariq Butt and later opened fire at him, killing him at the scene. Majid also killed his sister Sumera when she came to rescue her father and fled. Police have registered a double murder case against Majid.

CALL FOR PEACE: A meeting, with a provincial minister in the chair, stressed the need for the promotion of religious harmony and peace in Muharram and asked people to help the government and law enforcement agencies maintain law and order in this month.

Chief Minister’s Adviser Jehanzeb Burki, Punjab Police Inspector General Shaukat Javed, Home Secretary Nadeem Hassan Asif, Divisional Commissioner Khalid Masood, Dr Pervaiz Ahmad Khan, DIG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema and religious figures were present at the meeting presided over by Prisons Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor.
