ISLAMABAD, Dec 27: The Karachi Boat Club (KBC) dominated the two-day 28th National rowing championship which started at the Rawal Lake by winning three gold medals on Saturday.

KBC’s Saddam Sheikh who clocked 7:27:05 clinched the gold in the single skull followed by Imran Ali (Police) 7:32:00 and Kashif (Wapda) 11:44:41.

In the double scull, the KBC snatched a gold by clocking 6:33:21 while Wapda with 7:15:18 time finished second.

Mehak Tehrani and Kiran Ikram (KBC) finished with a time of 6:42:00 and grabbed a gold in the women’s double scull. They were followed by Islamabad Rowing Association’s Manila Gaya and Marium Gabaji (7:30:00).

In the lightweight single scull, Police claimed a gold by clocking 6:44:84 while KBC took a silver (6:46:27) and Wapda finished third by clocking 7:10:00.

All the ten affiliated units of the Pakistan Rowing Federation are participating in the event.
