Qazi calls for anti-Israel protests

Published December 28, 2008

LAHORE, Dec 27: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Amir Qazi Husain Ahmad has called for nationwide protests on Sunday (today) against an Israeli raid on Gaza.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, the JI chief said Muslims were being massacred throughout the world because of cowardice and insensitivity of their rulers. He said the US, Israel and India were the ‘real terrorists’ and Muslims throughout the world were the victims of the troika. The United Nations and the so-called international human rights organisations were keeping a criminal silence over Muslims’ massacre because they were the ‘guardian’ of Zionist and American interests. The Muslim rulers were imperialist agents and the Organisation of Islamic Conference was nothing more than an American tool. The Muslim world could counter state terrorism of the US, Israel and India by forging unity in its ranks.

Ahmed said the Israeli raid on Gaza also exposed the international media, which would raise a storm over the killing of an animal, but say nothing on the massacre of Muslims in Gaza on Saturday.
