Man, son die as pickup hits motorcycle

JACOBABAD, Dec 27: A man and his minor son were killed in a road accident on Indus Highway near Kandhkot on Saturday.

Niaz Ahmed, 35, with his five-year-old son Matloob Ahmed was going to Kandhkot from Naich village on a motorcycle when a speedy pickup hit their motorcycle. As a result, Niaz and Matloob were killed on the spot.

The police took the bodies to a Kandhkot hospital for post-mortem after which they were hand over to the heirs.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, 15 people were injured when a Larkana-bound passenger coach coming from Lahore collided with a stationary truck on Indus highway near Kandhkot due to heavy fog.

Those injured included Mohammad Shaban, Talib Hussain, Manthar, Naseebullah, Umer, Hayat, Mistri Waheed, Kashif and Mohammad Ali.

They were taken to Civil Hospital Kandhkot where the condition of Kashif is said to be critical.
