SHIKARPUR, Dec 26: A large number of people held a rally in Khanpur town on Friday in protest against unannounced loadshedding for 14 to 16 hours in the town and its adjoining localities.

The protesters led by the president of Shehri Ittehad Hafiz Saleem Arain, Khanpur UC Nazim Abdul Latif Sethar, Mohammad Shah Kazmi and Ali Murad Sethar complained that power supply was discontinued after failure of three transformers 10 days ago but Hesco officials did not bother to replace them in time.

They threatened to observe shutter-down strike if power supply was not restored within four days.
