KARACHI, Dec 25: Usmanabad Union and Sharafi Mohammadan made short work of their respective opponents at the CDGK Stadium on Wednesday as round 12 of KASB Premier League Football (PLF) came to its conclusion.

Usmanabad Union edged past Hyderi Baloch 3-2 but the win wouldn’t benefit them in any way as they were already out of the running for top eight.

Striker Liaquat Hussain got Usmanabad ahead in the 18th minute. But Hyderi’s midfielder Mohammad Rustam equalised in the 23rd. The 35th minute saw Usmanabad getting ahead once again when Mohammad Imran beat Hyderi’s goalkeeper Murad Bakhsh to score. It was 2-1 at halftime.

Then in the 55th minute, Hyderi’s stopper Zulqarnain headed in a corner kick to make the score 2-2.

The decider happened in the 80th minute when Usmanabad’s left-winger Sohail Khan scored to win the match for his side. With this match Usmanabad now have 12 points and Hyderi Baloch 21.

In the other match, District Malir champions Sharafi Mohammadan ruined Aurora FC’s chances to make it to the final round when they beat them 1-0. The one and only deciding goal was scored by top scorer and striker Abdul Haleem in the 60th minute. This was his 17th goal in the ongoing tournament. Sharafi Mohammadan now have 27 points while Aurora FC have 14.

At the conclusion of the 12th round, Sharafi Mohammadan rank first, Nazimabad FC second and Ghani XI third. Karachi Kickers, Shahzad Mohammadan, Maymar Sports, Hyderi Baloch and Mauripur Baloch complete the top-eight line-up.

The playoffs kick off on Dec 28 with Sharafi Mohammadan taking on Mauripur Baloch and Nazimabad FC facing Baloch Mujahid.
