KASUR, Dec 25: Sadar police on Thursday recovered the body of a minor boy who was kidnapped for a ransom of Rs500,000 a few days ago and arrested two accused.

Hafiz Asad Iqbal and Hafiz Akram of Sarai Mughal kidnapped four-year-old Ali Hasan from Rukanpura Street No 4 on Dec 20 and took him to an unknown place where they gave him some tranquilizer.

The boy died the next day owing to overdose. The kidnappers packed his body in a sack and buried in a ground on Nizampura Road. Sadar police registered a case on the report of Hasan’s father Asif on Dec 22.

Hafiz Asad, who was a neighbour and a relative of Hasan, gave a chit having a cell phone number to the family saying a masked man had given it to him. On suspicion, the police arrested Hafiz Asad

When the family contacted on this number, Hafiz Akram demanded Rs500,000 for the release of the child. With the help of this phone number, police arrested Hafiz Akram from Sarai Mughal.

On the identification of the accused, the police recovered the body of Hasan from the Nizampura Road ground and handed it over to the family after autopsy.
