BEIJING, Dec 25: China said on Thursday that late Benazir Bhutto had made a major contribution to strengthening Sino-Pakistan relations.

“The Chinese people and the government will never forget her contribution,” said Foreign Office spokesman Qin Gang at a Press conference in response to a question.

“We appreciate her efforts in bringing the two countries closer. Chinese government had strongly condemned her assassination. Pakistan is our friendly neighbour and China wishes to see it a stable, harmonious and developing country,” he observed.

“China always cherishes the traditional friendship with Pakistan and is ready to work with it to further promote our friendly relations,” he said.
